New Wheels II

Wow, I just got off my new Trikke 7.997260274

I gotta tell ya, I can wait for the Roadster now. This Trikke 7.997260274 is a whole notch faster than my last Trikke.

A whole notch.

So I'm tellin' all of ya, get a Trikke 7.997260274!

Yep, NEW WHEELS!

And, NEW FOOTPADS!

And, NEW GRIPS.

I got red wheels this time. No more singing with the blues. (I find myself singing all the time while Trikking...anyone else?)

And I wore down the new wheels in one session so much that they are no longer 8 inches.....7.997260274 now.

I gotta tell ya -- if you've worn down your 8's back wheels as much as I had worn mine, (outside diameter was 7.5 and inner diameter was 7 inches) then HOLY MOLY get you some new wheels. The difference is really amazing....

I thought, "Geeze, my back wheels are nicely worn down so much now that a much larger footprint is being put onto the surface and thus, more traction, right?" But, NO, not nearly as much as I thought. The new wheels are, yep, just a titch skiddier, but WOW WOW WOW I could hardly get off the Trikke in my morning run....I just did it to exhaustion, and now, I'm day dreaming about my afternoon run. The extra speed and the extra smoothness was absolutely apparent.

It was a brand new machine.

And suddenly, I felt a bit ashamed about our Roadster worship services here. My sermons on the Roadster are recorded here, but miss not my previous write-ups of the Trikke 8 when I first started trikking. The Trikke 8 is thrilling, thrilling, and yeah, thrilling too.

It is a great achievement of Gildo and the crew to have shaped this devise so well over so many iterations. They got it right, and the problems we moan about here -- and I'm the biggest pebble-whiner here, right? -- are plainly insignificant compared to the Trikke's delivery of an astoundingly smooth, trouble free, safe, strong, gravity sail.

I love my Trikke 8. I cannot see retiring it when the Roadster arrives. I'm sure now, that they both will have their place in my heart. And besides, I'm so good on the 8, that I can let friends ride the Roadster in comfort while I battle the debris and still keep up.

Yeah, I'm drooling for the Roadster still -- I've got a Trikke spittoon handy -- but again, WOW, simply, WOW!

I am a born again 8er!

Thank you, Gildo!

Thank you, John!

We have been blessed.

P.S. I rode on the old wheels one last time and then quickly put on the new ones, so that the old "feel" would be as fresh as possible in my mind for the comparisons. Yep, I blue-glued dem bolts dem bolts dem dry bolts, and then just got right on the Trikke wet bolts and all....so far, the bolts are staying in place. Knocking on wood here....sigh.
