I just signed up at Trikke Tech to be a demo rider. We'll see if Trikke Tech's on the ball and is "developing" its customer base. And they should; here's why: I did some figures that will probably seem ridiculous at first glance but are true nonetheless. I have had my Trikke since Oct. 20, 2003, and I trikke at least 30 minutes a day, up to 90 minutes, and almost all of it is on public streets and commercial lots. At my favorite place, on a "main drag" street, I counted 26 cars going by in one minute at 10 A.M. Another count yielded 43 cars/min. And this was not a busy-time or an unusual amount of traffic for that time of day. SOOOOO, that means that a minimum of 20 cars/minute times 30 minutes minimum of trikking time times 300 trikking days per year in Wisconsin equals: are you ready? are you ready? It equals: 180,000 views of a trikker trikking for my Wausau, WI area of 90,000 people. That's an average of two views of a trikker trikking per car driver per year. And that's just the minimum. Some cars have more than one person, and it could be that the average per minute is closer to 40 than my assumption of 20. Think about it. That means that one single person, lil' o' moi, has marketed the Trikke to just about every person in my town....twice. In less than a year of trikking, I've demonstrated/talked-about the Trikke to passersby about 50-75 times. Marketing idea: Every new Trikke should come with a small tear-off pad of paper that has, say, 200 sheets, and upon each one is all the basic Trikke info, including Web site, pricing, 800 number to call, how it works, etc. The pad should be mounted on the Trikke itself. Then, every time a trikker gets stopped, a slip of paper can be handed to a person. If you're the sales-personality type, heck, you can probably sell a few dozen Trikkes per year just by this method alone if you put your local telephone number on the slip of paper. That could be a few thousand bucks extra pocket change just for getting yourself fit -- in public. I read that only 250,000 Trikkes have been sold so far. That means that every single trikker today is "one in a million." There's 999,999 non-trikkers in America for each one of us, yet look how easily I've reached 180,000 of them! I've attached a photo of the Trikke 12 that I got from somewhere on the Web. I LOVE THE DAY-GLO ORANGE COLOR. Can someone tell me if the 12 will come in this color....or do we only have the Henry Ford Model T choice? I want the orange -- why? -- not because I prefer it, but because it gets attention. If we're going to snipe at that herd of non-trikkers, we'd better wear our hunting colors! My weapon of choice: Trikke ---- 12 gauge. A shotgun on wheels. Edg |
