Trikke Tech -- John Simpson

(This is my first Yahoo Group message to John Simpson -- before I knew he was the president of Trikke Tech.)

John,

Thank you for joining this group!

One burning question: have you ridden the Trikke 12 yet? What's it like?

Thanks for mentioning my "orbiting" concept and the "Gravity is our wind" motto.

Trikke Tech, Inc. is free to use these without restrictions; I claim no proprietary interest or copyright, and I mention this hoping that Trikke Tech would use them. I think the concepts are something Trikke Tech could really get behind as a marketing angle. It is something that 12-25 year olds might identify with. Certainly any trikker has felt that "free fall" feeling. Try closing your eyes and trikking for ten carves on a big safe parking lot -- it's orbiting I tell you!

Can you tell us what your role is there at Trikke Tech?

Edg

Hello fellow Trikke riders!

I am so amazed by all of the incredibly deep and articulate chatting going on in here about Trikke - riding Trikke - falling off of Trikke - loving Trikke - learning Trikke. I have spent now a couple of hours just soaking in the experiences of everybody and I continue to be amazed and (as corny as this may sound) touched. I hope it's ok for me to be a member, because I'm a part of the Trikke Tech group. I certainly don't want anyone to feel self-conscious about "talking Trikke."

I just read a great write-up by "edg?" about Trikke is twice as fun as surfing, where the action of riding Trikke is compared toboth surfing and sailing (2 of my other favorite things to do - that I never have time for...). Really an insightful read on the physics behind the ride. Gravity is our wind.

I think we need to set a date to get as many of you as possible down to Marina del Rey or Venice before the summer's over and have a bbq, do some Trikke riding, maybe even some sailing! I've got a day-sailer and there are bbq pits and plenty of areas to ride.

What do you guys think?

John

And, Sue - thanks for moderating this great group!

Hey Edg,

Of course I've ridden the 12! It's a monster. No more need for smooth pavement. It actually prefers asphalt and rougher roads. Are you also the one that wrote about Trikke-dancing? (Wondeful discourse, by the way. Thoughts and ideas that I've had regarding momentum are so perfectly phrased.) You find the roads in your area too rough for the 8? You'll find the 12 will handle it all.

The 12 is heavier, of course, so you need to approach it with more muscle to get it moving at first - but then it's just the same Trikke thang - be one with the physics and let it roll! Or let it fall!

Thanks for the offer to use your ideas. We are actually having a meeting on Tuesday to discuss some of our new messages and how/when to implement their use. I'll definitely share your concepts to the group. I already told a couple people of the ballroom dancing concept and they both thought it was great. Right now, however, we do not have the funds to do TV commercials per se... but one day.

My role was to put together the team to launch the product, and now it is to steer the ship and keep things together, learn from the market and successfully role out our evolving business plans. We're fortunate at Trikke to have a really great group of very talented people. It's very much a family.
